Clarifying the President’s position on censorship
The “Fairness Doctrine” itself may never come to pass the FCC again. It would be too blatant an assault on the First Amendment freedoms of speech and religion.
President Obama’s FCC will likely try to produce the same results of stifling viewpoints and talk and Christian radio thru other regulations.
The White House website has hundreds of policy points, including this one on the “technology” agenda:
Ensure the Full and Free Exchange of Ideas through an Open Internet and Diverse Media Outlets
Encourage Diversity in Media Ownership: Encourage diversity in the ownership of broadcast media, promote the development of new media outlets for expression of diverse viewpoints, and clarify the public interest obligations of broadcasters who occupy the nation’s spectrum.
